Lady Rizo, according to New York institution Village Voice, 'blows your heart and goes down on your mind'. Which we think might be quite nice. The five-star rated, award-winning, Grammy-winning singer/comedienne/vaudeville star is now making her UK debut at London's glittering Soho Theatre. And we can hardly wait.
A hard one to categorise - especially as we haven't seen her; well, it's been a while since we were in New York - she sings songs from throughout the ages, giving them a sharp twist with her strange, haunting voice, searing wit and overblown femininity. She's also the first ever winner of the TO&ST (Time Out and Soho Theatre) award. And that's not to be sniffed at. Or off of for that matter. Anyway, she begins her Soho Theatre run on Monday 18th February with tickets at just £10 for the first two days and £15 from then on. We would hotly recommend you get down there as we think it's going to be a moment. Get your tickets here.
